What is ED?
Erectile dysfunction is a state of the body when your penis is not capable of getting erected for sexual intercourse or self-stimulation. You can achieve orgasm, but the hardness of the erection is not reached. ED should not be confused with lack of interest or less erection due to stress. Erectile dysfunction is seen in 1 out of 10 people worldwide.
Causes
- Cardiovascular disease: heart diseases and related problems will decrease blood flow and cause ED.
- Neurological disorders: any harm to the nerves can prevent the erection from happening.
- Physiological factors: stress, depression, and anxiety for a long time can harm the blood flow and thus can cause ED.
- Accidents or injury: external injury can also stop the erection of the penis.
Symptoms:
- Erection gets mild, or you will need a longer time to get aroused.
- Hard to keep the erection for a long time.
- The desire to have intercourse becomes low, and you feel dull.
Treatment:
- Medicines: medicine is provided orally to the patient.
- Therapeutic approach: the patient undergoes sex therapy for this purpose.
- Injections: injections are administered to the penis to dilute the blood flow blockage
- Surgery: Surgery is performed to fix the damaged nerves and improve the blood pressure and flow to the penis.
